The Stone Roses' Ian Brown Could Face Prison After Being Banned From Driving

The Stone Roses' Ian Brown has been banned from driving for three months.

The singer was given a £900 fine and ordered to pay £1,105 in costs, reports The Guardian.

Brown was caught driving at 93mph in a 40mph zone last October and failed to appear at Stoke Magistrates Court earlier this month.

District Judge David Taylor, told Brown: Speed limits are not imposed on a motorway unless there are very good reasons. Those reasons are almost always health and safety.

His solicitor Nick Freeman said: "He accepts he should not have been travelling at the speed he was. He accepts the court's sentence with good grace and is now looking forward with enthusiasm to the next stage of his career."

If Brown is caught behind the wheel whilst disqualified he could face a prison sentence.

As previously reported on Gigwise, Brown appeared in court back in October where he was given a £650 fine by Chester magistrates and also received six penalty points for speeding in his Lexus on the M6 in April earlier this year.

His lawyer Nick Freeman argued that a driving ban would make it difficult for him to see his 11-year-old son who lives in London while he rehearses for The Stone Roses' reunion gigs in Manchester

The Stone Roses, who announced their reunion at a press conference last month, plan to play three hometown shows at Manchester's Heaton Park on June 29, 30 and 31, as well as going on an extensive world tour.
