Diversified across a varied live scene, the influence of imported U.S. funk and soul loomed large in early 70s British music.
Now, Discotheque / Sanctuary Records will release on March 21, 2005, 'Bluey From Incognito presents Brothers On The Slide: The Story Of U.K. Funk 1969-1975', an album to capture and celebrate the under-exposed era of British music, playing homage to artists including the likes of Gonzales, Joe Cocker's Grease Band, Carol Grimes and Kokomo who spearheaded a rampant jam band culture in the country's pubs and clubs.
Compiled by Incognito's legendary frontman, Jean Paul "Bluey" Maunick, the deluxe album package features several tracks never previously released on CD, plus a rare unreleased track, Jabba's version of James Brown's 'Superbad'.
With extensive liner notes by Lloyd Bradley and Quinton Scott, including artist interviews and rare photos, this definitive package accurately encapsulates the 1969-1975 era of British Funk.document.write(unescape("
