The release of The Veronicas' new album 'Hook Me Up' has been moved to September.
Twin sisters Lisa and Jessica Origliasso are currently committed to sustained North American touring that has limited their availability. As a result, the album's release date has been delayed to coincide with their debut UK tour that will be announced imminently.
The Veronicas are currently enjoying chart success with 'Untouched'. The first single to be taken from 'Hook Me Up', 'Untouched' has proved to be a defining summer hit and is currently riding high at #8 in the singles chart.
Already the biggest name in new Australian pop and now based in Los Angeles, The Veronicas are firmly on course to repeat their phenomenal international success on these shores. Both 'Hook Me Up' and the debut album 'The Secret Life Of…' have hit #2 on the Australian album charts and reached multi-Platinum status in the process. The duo already have one #1 single and a further four Top 5 hits to their name as well as an ARIA Music Award (Australia's equivalent to a Brit or Grammy) and three MTV Australia Awards..
Their success has spread to the States where the single 'Untouched' has been certified Gold following more than 1.6 million download sales. The popularity of the single also sparked 'Hook Me Up' into life as it reached #2 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. They've also toured alongside the Jonas Brothers and Katy Perry, while Perez Hilton has been a vocal supporter.
The Veronicas talents extend to the running of their own clothing range, launched in conjunction with Australian company Target that grossed $38 million in 2008 alone. In addition, they're also piloting a new reality show for MTV.
