The Vines over?

The Vines have managed to put both their fans and the media off side once again after bass player bass player Patrick Matthews threw a poorly timed 'wobbly' after the bands first song at the Annandale Hotel in Sydney on Thursday night and stormed off stage.

The show was a showcase gig presented by radio station Triple M with many media and radio contest winners in attendance.

The Vines completed the gig as a three piece but yesterday cancelled their scheduled performance at The Metro in Sydney citing 'illness' as the reason.

An announcement issued to media stated 'It is with great regret and disappointment that The Vines announce the cancellation of their Metro show in Sydney tonight. The show will no longer take place as planned due to illness. The band sincerely apologises for any disappointment caused. Refunds will be available from point of purchase'.

The big question now is 'is it all over for The Vines'? Bad reviews across America and poor sales of their recent album 'Winning Days' followed by the latest antic now have people questioning if there is a future for The Vines anymore. One industry insider suggested fans at the Annandale may have even witnessed their break-up.

Fans with tickets to last night's Sydney show have been offered a full refund.

Their next US tour is due to begin on June 24 in Atlantic City. At this stage it is still scheduled to go ahead.
