New York natives The Virgins release 'Teen Lovers' on February 16 through Atlantic Records. The single is taken from their self-titled debut album, which will be out in April. The band have just been named as one of NME's '10 Tips For 2009' as well as a 'Band To Watch in 2009' by MTV.
'Teen Lovers' is the second single to be lifted from the band's anticipated debut, and follows the hotly-tipped tails of 'One Week Of Danger' which was released in December. The track won various accolades including the prestigious 'Single of the Week' spot in the Guardian Guide, and a rapturous 9/10 NME single review.
2008 saw the band stamp their mark on the UK live scene, from wowing audiences when touring with Band Of Horses and The Pigeon Detectives to delivering explosive headline club sets to sold-out crowds at the Old Blue Last and Madame JoJo's legendary White Heat night. The band have also been tirelessly busy on the US circuit, sharing stages with the likes of Tokyo Police Club, Ra Ra Riot and The Black Kids. They take to the road for a headline tour of the US later this month.
The band hit London for a one-off show at YOYO, Notting Hill Arts Club, on January 15. A full UK tour will be announced shortly.
