New York post-punk miserablists The Walkmen return with their sixth album Heaven and a teaser trailer.
Critics, hip inner-urban types and fellow bands spilled many tears and much drool over The Walkmen's last album Lisbon.
In the meantime, the band has toured with Arcade Fire, and Fleet Foxes and headlined a Brooklyn festival curated by The National.
They recorded Heaven in a studio in the woods of Seattle with Phil Ek (who has worked with Band Of Horses and The Shins), and it features Fleet Foxes singer Robin Pecknold on guest vocals.
Walkmen singer Hamilton Leithauser says of the album, "The detachment you can feel throughout our younger records is gone. We felt like it was time to make a bigger, more generous statement."
"I'm very proud of what we've done," says multi-instrumentalist Pete Bauer, "We've stayed friends and those friendships have grown. We have survival experience and real love that children generate in your life."
Heaven will be released through Inertia in Australia on June 8. Check out the trailer for the album below.
