The Who are to be the subject of an expansive big screen retrospective, consisting of two feature-length films.
The rock legends' 40-year plus career will be chronicled in "Amazing Journey: The Story Of The Who" and "Amazing Journey: Six Quick Ones".
Due to be debuted in September at the Toronto International Film Festival, the first documentary is designed to appeal to the band's mainstream audience.
It features new interviews with the surviving members, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend, plus rare concert footage and other exclusive material.
The more detailed companion film includes four segments on each member - Townshend, Daltrey, John Entwistle and Keith Moon - and two more entitled "Who Art You" and "Who's Back".
Amongst the extras featured across the releases are a video scrapbook showcasing a dinner with Moon and a piece on The Who's 1979 concert in Cincinnati, where 11 fans died.
Both films are due for release to shops in November, according to Reuters.document.write(unescape("
