After a barrage of dates last year including tours with Future of the left, Bat for Lashes, Biffy Clyro, Make Model, Cage the Elephant, Brakes, Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly and now Fighting with Wire, THE XCERTS are gearing up for recording their debut full length album in the summer.
THE XCERTS' story began around the turn of the century when then 13-year-olds Murray MacLeod (vocals, guitar) and Jordan Smith (bass, vocals) met in the headmaster's office of their school in Aberdeen. After being in various bands together, in 2006 they relocated to Brighton and met drummer Tom Heron, and the line-up of THE XCERTS was finalised.
The release of their debut single 'Just Go Home' in 2007 took things to the next level for the band, winning Zane Lowe's 'Fresh Meat' competition on Radio 1, and being playlisted on XFM as well as winning support from John Kennedy, Colin Murray and Huw Stephens, Steve Lamcaq and further Zane Lowe plays.
