The single 'Just Go Home' will be released on 19 November by Sam Duckworth's (Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly) Mannequin Republic label, on limited edition vinyl backed with the new b-side 'Aberdeen 1987'.
Duckworth contacted the band out of the blue after hearing Zane Lowe play 'Just Go Home' on his Radio 1 show, where it won his 'Fresh Meat' competition. Since then, the track has been added to the XFM playlist, and the band have recorded sessions for John Kennedy and MTV2. Further radio support has come with plays from Colin Murray, Huw Stephens and Vic Galloway.
Recent tours supporting Brakes and Make Model have increased THE XCERTS' already formidable live reputation, and their intense strand of intelligent, distorted pop never fails to make an impact.
Citing influences as varied as Death Cab for Cutie, Mogwai and The Police and compared to the likes of Idlewild, The Jam and Brand New, THE XCERTS combine clean and clever melodies with triumphant rock riffs to create instantly memorable songs dripping in raw power.
