There'll be no tears in your beers on November 30, when Curb Records releases Tim McGraw's Number One Hits, which is self-explanatory. It's a two-disc set featuring 22 of Tim McGraw's chart-topping singles. The collection will also feature two bonus tracks: a dance mix of his breakthrough 1994 hit, "Indian Outlaw," and "Felt Good on My Lips," McGraw's latest single.
Number One Hits traces McGraw's remarkable career, from his very first chart-topper, 1994's "Don't Take The Girl," which was subsequently certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA, to this year's "Southern Voice," the title track from his 10th studio album, which was used in the Academy Award-nominated film The Blind Side, in which he co-starred with Sandra Bullock.
The collection also includes three singles that ranked as the No. 1 country hits of their respective years on Billboard's Year-End charts: 1997's "It's Your Love," a duet with McGraw's wife, Faith Hill, "Just to See You Smile" (which hit No. 1 in 1998) and "Live Like You Were Dying" (2004). "It's Your Love" was certified 2x Platinum, won four ACM Awards (including Video of the Year), a CMA Award and a CMT Award and received two GRAMMY® nominations. Charting for 42 weeks, six of which were at No. 1, "Just to See You Smile" was the longest-charting country single of the 1990's. McGraw won a GRAMMY award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance for "Live Like You Were Dying," the title track from his 4x Platinum 2004 album.
In other McGraw news, the singer will co-star alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester in Country Strong. The film will be released in theatres nationwide on January 7. McGraw duets with Paltrow on "Me and Tennessee," a song written by Paltrow's husband, Coldplay's Chris Martin, which is included on the Country Strong soundtrack, due out on October 26.
