Tom Cruise Asks Bon Jovi: 'How Do You Rock?'

Tom Cruise has asked Jon Bon Jovi for advice on being a rock star

Cruise is nervous about playing tattooed singer Stacee Jaxx in the film version of the Broadway play Rock of Ages, so sought advice from the Livin' on a Prayer star - one of many performers whom Jaxx is based upon.

Bon Jovi told Extra: "He and I actually went out and he was very intense about 'how do you do this?'

"I said, 'Relax man, you're Tom Cruise, you can learn how to sing a song, don't worry about it!'

"Knowing Tom Cruise from afar, everything that he does, he does to 11."

Cruise will sing Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead or Alive in the film, but Jon is adamant that he's not worried about being caricatured.

The 49-year-old added: "I'm pleased, I'm curious. I don't think that he's gonna be worried about duplicating my things - it'll be an amalgam of stuff. In the meantime, I think it's pretty neat."

Rock of Ages is due for release on June 1, 2012.
