Overview
The 48-year-old actor famously murdered You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' as Maverick in Top Gun, so his newfound ability is said to have come as quite a shock to everyone working on the film, in which he plays ageing rock star Stacee Jaxx.
Singing coach to the stars, Ron Anderson, was drafted in to whip Tom's vocal chords into shape. A source told The Sun, 'Nobody thought Tom would cut the mustard as a grizzled old rocker but he's blown everyone away.
'He's discovered he's got a four-octave vocal range, which is very rare for a man. He puts it down to his genes as he has found out he has an opera singer in his ancestry.'
