Tom Cruise: `David Beckham could be a film star`

The Mission Impossible actor, who is friends with the footballer and his wife Victoria, said that he sees great potential in the father-of-four.

“I’d love to do action movies with Beckham,” Cruise told The Mirror. “He would be great, he could kick ass.”

But he joked that he wouldn’t give him his big break for free, laughing, “David would have to teach me to play soccer first.”

A source added that David could well be open to Tom’s suggestion.

“David has been linked with Hollywood a number of times but Tom is the only one he’d ever take up, he thinks Tom’s a legend,” said the insider.

“He’d still like to have a sporting element to it. Tom’s a sporty guy, too, so any collaboration would be about something competitive.”
