Overview
The 48-year-old star, who is currently filming the new Mission Impossible 4 movie, has been offered a supporting role in the film, according to E! Online.
The flick is an adaptation of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages and it has been reported newlywed singer Katy Perry is also being lined up for the movie.
Rock of Ages is being directed by Adam Shankman, who is a co-founder of the Dizzy Feet Foundation along with Cruise's wife Katie Holmes.
Shankman recently told the US website he was still in discussions about the cast, he said: 'There are a bunch of actor meetings this week, but there's nothing I can announce yet.'
