Overview
Union of Knives release their self-titled debut EP through Stimulus records on 21st November, a two track taster of their upcoming album, February next year.
‘Evil Has Never' kicks off the EP, a plaintive boy/girl duet smudged by nu-wave analogue riffs, whilst second track ‘Operated On' is doused in thundering drum kicks, an epic of rippling guitars and twisting vocals.
“Evil Has Never' is a dark duet about two lovers who can't quite get to grips with each other,†explains Chris Gordon, one third of the Union of Knives trio. “I'm not sure how it evolved into a proper song, at first all we had was a synth riff but every time we listened we'd add bits… chords, guitars and then we got the vocals and after so much perseverance we'd finally found the sound we always wanted.â€
Their tracks have already caught the attention of the airwaves with key plays from Steve Lamacq, Nemone and The Blue Room at Radio 1 plus a series of live gigs has kicked off across alternative venues everywhere from Glasgow and Notting Hill Arts Club to Iceland's Airwaves Festival.
