The Gig Company are thrilled to announce that the legendary Van Morrison OBE will be headlining a night of rock'n'roll fundraising for Focus12 at Porchester Hall on June 24th. Focus12 has supported people suffering with drug and alcohol addiction since 1997, and this evening will open the door to help many more.
Brown Eyed Girl singer Van Morrison OBE has a back catalogue of hits that has spanned over a staggering 57 years in the industry. The singer has released 36 albums, including nine which went Top Ten. He has been awarded six Grammy Awards, a BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution and been inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The evening will be the biggest ever fundraising event in support of Focus12 whichhas a well-earned and significant reputation for successfully helping people with the illness of drug and alcohol addiction. Although strategically located in Suffolk it has for 17 years proudly helped people from all over the UK and occasionally overseas.
In paving the way to a new and productive life in sobriety, Focus12 also addresses deeply ingrained family issues and rifts, mental health conditions, personality disorders, other addictions, unemployment, housing issues, re-offending and education. The people who enter into Focus12's intensive residential abstinence based treatment are at their lowest ebb and at times literally at risk of death, were they to continue misusing substances. Those who leave Focus12 at the end of their treatment programme 'graduate' to a life that offers both opportunities and challenges. They do so however with the self-belief and peer support needed for such a life in recovery.
Davina McCall, Russell Brand, Joe Pasquale and Boy George are among the patrons who support Focus12.
