Vanessa Williams: I love Halloween doughnuts

The actress has four children, who all love arranging their outfits for the spooky holiday. Even though her kids vary in age they all get into the spirit of the occasion, which is why Vanessa loves it so much.

She won’t be dressing up herself this year though, as she has already donned a costume for her role as Renée Perry in American drama Desperate Housewives. “My youngest is ten so she still trick or treats but my oldest are pretty much adults so they go to grown up parties but there’s always an opportunity to dress up,” Vanessa explained.

“This year I’ve already dressed up. I played Marilyn Monroe in Desperate Housewives for a Halloween episode. I’ve already done my outfit which was spectacular and the creative team did and amazing job with the make-up, wigs and recreating the dress from The Seven Year Itch. I don’t know if I can top that by myself so I’ll just leave it at that.”

Every year, Vanessa and her family attend a local parade on Halloween. She enjoys it as it gives her a chance to relax with friends and catch up on gossip.

“At end of the parade there’s cider doughnuts and a local band and time to hang out with your friends and see what they’re wearing for their Halloween outfits,” she told People.
