Velvet Revolver are reportedly on the verge of a split after an on-line war of words between singer Scott Weiland and drummer Matt Sorum. The spat became apparent during their 20 March Glasgow show when the sometime Stone Temple Pilots singer, Weiland, announced to the audience that they were witnessing the last ever Velvet Revolver tour.
Ex Guns 'n' Roses drummer, Sorum, had a thinly veiled pop at Weiland in an online statement that suggested he should appreciate what a great life it is on the road, and perhaps the strains of missing his family was taking its toll. "My career and life in rock 'n' roll has come with its ups and downs. Unfortunately, some people in this business don't realise how great of a life they have. Touring the world, meeting great people and fans all over the world. And just playing music for a living. I feel truly blessed."
Weiland blasted Sorum as being "..too immature to have a real relationship, let alone children. So don't attempt to stand in a man's shoes when you haven't walked his path." He also had a dig at Sorum's unprofessionalism for cancelling an entire Australian tour to enter rehab.
Velvet Revolver – more like pistols at dawn! Pop guns at the ready.
