We Have Band to release debut album

We Have Band will release their debut album, WHB, this April through Naïve.
- Album release date: Monday 5th April, 2010
- First single 'Divisive' release date: Monday 22nd March, 2010

There's little that hasn't already been said about the London-based trio, such has been their impact since bursting onto the live scene in early-summer 2008. Having released two previous singles ('Oh' and 'You Came Out' through 50 Bones and Kill Em All) and supported by Kitsune (via inclusions on 2 of their influential 'Maison' compilation series), as well as winning last years 'Glastonbury Emerging Talent Contest', the band will now release their debut album through Naïve in the UK.


Having been founded by Patrick Zelnik (The man who launched Virgin France with Richard Branson), Naïve is France's biggest independent distributor and record label, with the likes of Santigold, The Wombats and Yeasayer all having recently release albums through them. They are also the International home for Marianne Faithful, Carla Bruni and Seu Jorge amongst others and are the official distributor for the Beggars Banquet Group (XL, 4AD, Rough Trade, etc) in France.

Regarded as one of the most refreshing and exciting bands to emerge in recent times, We Have Band (Tom WP, Dede WP and Darren Bancroft) spent most of 2009 touring the world and the rest of the time in the studio with producer Gareth Jones (Grizzly Bear, Interpol, Depeche Mode, These New Puritans) and are looking to prove the critics right with their debut album this spring.

Those looking for 12 tracks that sound like their previous two singles may be in for a surprise though, "The singles are poppy, danceable and catchy but there's another side to us" says Thomas. "We like a lot of darker music. Joy Division, early OMD, and Talking Heads are some of the things that inspire us," adds Darren.

"The three of us have lots of different influences and they've all come out on 'WHB'. We're so excited that it's now finished and will be released soon, it really is the full story of everything we've done from the very beginning up until now."
