Over 30,000 votes were cast in the poll, which saw the Kendal band emerge on top ahead of global superstars including Bruce Springsteen and Pharrell Williams to be named top. Present Tense is the band's highest charting record to date, peaking at No.10 in the UK charts when it was released on 24 February 2014.
"With time away from the studio, there is certainly a feeling that the band has become more aware of the beautifully twisted world around them," he wrote. "Embracing elements experienced by everyone living in the digital generation, Wild Beasts don’t preach or lecture they pose the most interesting of questions and ideologies normally found in our deep collective unconscious."
