Country and weed legend Willie Nelson won't have to sing, or go to jail, to settle his marijuana possession charges.
According to Associated Press, a Texas court has ruled that Nelson will only have to pay a fine of $500 and $287 court costs to settle the charges from a bust last year.
His tour bus was searched at a Border Patrol checkpoint in Texas in November last year and he was charge with possessing a controlled substance and let out on bail.
Strangely, in March Hudspeth County Attorney C.R. 'Kit' Bramblett said that he might settle the case by performing in court, but that suggestion was soon deemed a 'joke that got out of hand'.
Yesterday he said, "he's not coming, he's not singing".
So all Nelson has to do now is send through the $787 by mail and he's a free man.
