Wynonna Judd: Shoes, 'The Talk' and a tour, dates and details

The five-time Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, musician and New York Times best-selling author can now add shoe designer to her resume.

At the MAGIC Fashion and Apparel Trade Show in Las Vegas this past August, she unveiled her new women’s shoe line: Got Soul. The new collection of bedazzled sneakers, wedges and flats, will be available at Fred Segal LA and boutiques across America just in time for the holiday gift-giving season.

As for the inspiration behind starting her own shoe line, Wynonna said it came from her real-life road experience. “I’m on stage, and I hear from the audience, ‘Oh my god, your shoes,’” she told Women’s Wear Daily’s Footwear News.

“[Fans kept saying] the same thing at meet-and-greets. All of a sudden, it was like, ‘bling!’ literally and figuratively. Every woman needs to feel sparkly at some point.”

Judd goes on to share where the desire to create the new line came from. “It wasn’t a marketing thing. I’ve been offered all kinds of deals, but it truly has to be something that’s really me. I wear [fashion sneakers] every night on stage for my two-hour show, so it started authentically, and I’m really proud of that. It’s a very personal love affair with the fans.

“The initial line will include a variety of wedges with cool buckles and fringe, sneakers with an assortment of flag designs and bedazzled sequins, and then my favorites that inspired the entire line, the high top sequined sneakers. I think we did a great job at creating a dynamic line that the fans will love, that are unique and full of attitude.”

While on the “The Talk,” WYNONNA will also discuss her upcoming holiday tour--“A Simpler Christmas”--with her band THE BIG NOISE. The intimate and joyous performances will showcase her legendary voice in a set of inspirational Christmas favorites, plus some of her greatest hits.  Wynonna & The Big Noise kick off their “A Simpler Christmas” tour December 3 in Bakersfield, CA with dates running through December 22 in York, PA (see full itinerary below).  “The holidays are a hectic time of year for so many,” says WYNONNA. “The guys and I are excited to give fans a chance to experience the simpler sounds of the season."  Finely etched musical arrangements by her band will put WYNONNA’s voice front and center for what promises to be a truly memorable evening of music and holiday magic.
