Yusuf Islam (the former Cat Stevens) has announced that hew will hold the world premier of his new musical, Moonshadow, in Melbourne, Australia.
Moonshadow will feature a collection of music from Islam's career, all the way back to when he was known as Cat Stevens, to tell the "magical story of a young man and his moonshadow's struggle against the oncoming of darkness".
While that sounds slightly enigmatic, a press release reassures us that "It's about hopes and dreams; greed and power; right and wrong; but most importantly Moonshadow is about happiness and love."
The musical will feature classics like Father and Son, Wild World, Morning Has Broken, Peace Train and First Cut is the Deepest.
It will have its world premiere at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne in May 2012.
