Norglen Biography
founding members Andrew Doll (lead-vocals and guitar), Brendan O’Byrne (bass and keys) and Joel McCann (drums) grew up as three best buds, three band mates living within three minutes of each other on Norglen Crescent, in Northern Alberta, Canada. In November 2004, Norglen took center-stage, striding and fret sliding from the crescent streetlight to sold out shows in western Canada. Jumping to Vancouver; less than a year later Norglen recorded their first self-titled EP on the west coast with producer Dale Penner. And the band's ball kept rolling from there. The moonlit-melody meets powerful percussion rounds in the single, Summer Nights, became a hot-hit on commercial rock radio and top-40 countdowns in western Canada. Climbing the radio and Myspace charts, music industry veterans started to take interest in the block boys and their signature brand of white-hot pop rock. In 2006, they were signed to Read the Footnotes in Los Angeles, and over a two-month recording session in the star-struck surf-city with producer Chris Fudurich (Jimmy Eat World, AFI and Nada Surf) the Truth came out. Now Toronto based, the four year-strong group, along with the recent additions of guitarists Hugh Allen and Hiro Okhibu, are on the verge of the releasing their debut album, A Long Way from the Truth. Norglen is about writing wholesome songs that touch and feel. From tuning around the block to touring across the country they have come A Long Way, and they have already found the Truth. And soon, everyone will.
