Oceanroyal Biography
Surfacing with their debut album — Sympathetic Vibration — Oceanroyal introduces ten vibrant tracks into the melting pot of San Francisco Bay Area rock’n’roll. The songs, written in the Berkeley and San Francisco apartments of Kurt Seefeld (lead vocals, guitar) and Brian London (lead guitar), are about hope, love and ageless youthfulness. Joining the group in 2008, Chris Garber (drums) and David Chen (bass guitar) complete the quartet. Inspired and influenced by a wide range of artists — from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Oasis to The Beatles and Hall & Oates — Oceanroyal's roots can be traced back to 1998 when London and Seefeld met on the first day of high school. Almost immediately, the duo began crafting original songs and lyrics. Years later, in 2006, London and Seefeld began collaborating once again on new material and officially formed Oceanroyal in the fall of 2006. Within a few months, London and Seefeld had written nearly a dozen songs and began the search for a drummer and bassist to join their efforts. Sharing similar musical interests and influences, Garber and Chen — both with live performance experience with other groups and eager for a new project — answered the call in early 2008. Now, with their first independently released record under their belt, Oceanroyal is poised to share their music with audiences around Northern California. With new songs like "Velveteen" and "Loved You All Along" and standout tracks from their debut album like “Grow Young Again,” and the title track, “Sympathetic Vibration,” Oceanroyal has plenty of upbeat tempos and contagious melodies to fuel listeners’ Friday night soundtrack.
