Ollie & The Nightingales Biography
Ollie Hoskins was previously with The Wayside Travellers as early as 1950 then with The Gospel Writer Juniors, the latter recording for Pepper in Memphis before becoming The Dixie Nightingales. They recorded for Nashboro then for Stax' gospel subsidiary Chalice and finally ended up on Stax itself as Ollie & The Nightingales. Later on, after the departure of Ollie Hoskins, replaced by Sir Mack Rice, they would become simply The Nightingales (separate focus page to come).
