This menacing trance epic was arguably the high point of the album it shared its title with, and marked the arrival of Richard Barbieri. Richard: "That was my first introduction to Porcupine Tree. Steven wanted me to overlay lots of analogue electronics. I hadn't been using overtly synthetic sounds for a while, so it was a nice opportunity to work with pure electronic approaches." Steven: "It kind of followed on from Voyage 34 - now that that had been taken off the record, I wanted something on it which continued the trance element." Richard's wife Suzanne added the final touches, narrating a set of stream-on-consciousness words written by Steven.
