It was officially released as the album's first single on October 27, 2008. It was released for downloads digitally, however, on September 26. The song marked the band's fourth UK Top 5 single and their fifth to chart in the UK Top 10. It peaked at #5 in the UK Singles Chart, and #3 in Germany and Austria. The song has also peaked #8 in Swiss, #13in Belgium (Flanders) #23 in Ireland and #71 in the Dutch singles charts. However, it underperformed in comparison to some of their previous singles and Slipway Fires is now their first album to fail to produce a top three single. It spent only 7 weeks in the UK Top 100, less than each of the first three singles from the preceding album Razorlight. The song is a piano-led track, described as "slow-burning". The accompanying music video was shot by Oscar nominated feature film director Stephen Frears. The track was used as part of Burberry's introductory advertisement its the Fall/Winter 2009 collection.
