Red Wanting Blue Biography
Red Wanting Blue is a band formed in Athens, Ohio in 1996, and has since grown to be one of the most successful indie bands in the Midwestern United States. Red Wanting Blue has kept themselves very busy with five independent albums under their belt, commercial and college radio airplay, and their newest album came out July 2010. The band has shared the stage with such acts as: The Roots, 311, Our Lady Peace, 10,000 Maniacs, Cracker, Wyclef Jean and hometown friends O.A.R, to name a few. Live, RWB are set apart from the pack by their unique blend of theatrics and emotional rock led by front man Scott Terry and joined by guitarist Epp, bassist Mark McCullough and drummer Mark Stepro. With the current home base of Columbus, Ohio, Red Wanting Blue's rigorous tour schedule allows the band to keep up with their strong grassroots following and extreme popularity in the college indie-rock scene. A string of shows on the Sprite Liquid Audio Mix Tour gave the band the opportunity to perform and tour alongside top national recording artists O.A.R., The Roots, and N.E.R.D. "With their talent, songs, grassroots support and high profile opener slots, how this Columbus foursome has stayed under the radar is a complete mystery" (Ezra Waller- Cincinnati City Beat). "For RWB, each and every concert brings new fans and a refreshing new attitude about the college rock bands of today's music" (Angela Gorter- The Pulse). "Red Wanting Blue brings nothing but energy and flat out great shows to the stage. Their live performances are all the proof you"ll need to become a member of their ever-growing fan base" (Chris Headley- Chicago Street Scene).
