Sayyadina Biography
Sayyadina is a Swedish grindcore and crust punk band. They formed in Örebro, January 2000 at a Nasum show. In Stockholm, six months later they began to play together. Sayyadina's live debut was held at Kafé 44, Stockholm, in January 2001. In February they made their first visit to a studio, recording fourteen songs. Five of them ended up on a split 7" with Bruce Banner (released by Sounds Of Betrayal). The 7" was released just in time for the three week Sayyadina/Bruce Banner European tour in July 2001. In September 2001 they recorded ten tracks in the famous Sunlight Studio, Stockholm – six of those for their "Solace Denied" 7" (Sounds Of Betrayal), two of the other songs ended up on the "Polargrinder" compilation LP (Manufactured by CR/Putrid Filth Conspiracy) and one finally on the "Unlawful Grindcore Assembly" comp 7" (Nuclear Bbq Party). A second visit to the Sunlight Studio took place in February 2002. Seven songs were recorded for the "Swedish Assault" compilation CD (Relapse) and five for the Sayyadina/NO VALUE split 7" (Sounds Of Betrayal). In 2004 they recorded the album "Fear Gave Us Wings", released on CD by Sound Pollution in November and on vinyl by Yellow Dog the following month. January 2006 saw Sayyadina opening for Rotten Sound on the 21 date Grind Your Face Off tour through eleven European countries. They started recording their second album in March 2006. Using their own rehearsal room made it possible for their original drummer (who had been sporadically MIA due to shoulder complications) to do all the drumming. Their albüm "Mourning the Unknown" was out on cd july 2nd 2007 on Sound Pollution records, USA.
