Sladen Dead Biography
Sladen Dead is a vampiric gothic rap artist from England. He mixes unique gothic melodies to lyrics that are reminicent of 1800's Victorian poetry, mixed with the brutal style of Death Rap. A lot of his songs and albums are based around love stories and tragic tales of heartbreak, sorrow and vampirism. He is considered the "Dani Filth of Rap". A lot of his following are metalheads and goths. He started rapping in the late 90's although before that, he was the bassist for the Black Metal band Joan and the Convent of Fear. He can play bass, organ and some electric and acoustic guitar. In 1999 he formed the group Milk Karton, which was done with a few of his highschool friends. The group was a cross between oldschool rap and mainstream style music which he was not overly happy with, so he left. In 2000 he was solo for a year under the name Ajax before forming the Gothic Rap group Haunted Hill which later changed it's name to Black Saturday. After this, Sladen and one of his school friends Blatant (a garage rapper) formed the gangsta rap duo The Shark Brothers. This only lasted a brief amount of time as the two soon fell out permanently. Sladen started up Jenny's Cradle, later renamed Joan and the Convent of fear, of which he was bass and vocals. This broke up in late 2004 when Sladen and his brother Uzziah formed the Horrorcore rap group The Psycho Clown Brothers (originally named Mad Clown Disease). Originally had four members but quickly dropped to two, and later in 2006 PCB became Rye Town's Creatures and has remained so ever since. The Mourning was later also created with the same two artists, Sladen and Uzziah. Sladen is named after English Doctor Who actress Elizabeth Sladen, with the play on words of "Slayed and Dead." Sometimes his name appears as Sladen Deadite, possibly the full version of his alias.
