Stephen Grayce Biography
STEPHEN GRAYCE (pronounced "Grace") grew up in a small West Virginia town before relocating to Florida in 1984. After years in cover bands he decided to find his own voice, which it turns out is pretty eclectic. His music branches out with every release; on his CDs different styles live in harmony, from protest song to quiet folk, art-pop to blues and rock. On disc some of his songs feature a full band (all Stephen, actually); his live shows are solo acoustic, which can mean a different experience altogether. He has performed both locally in the Orlando area and at Nashville's prestigious Bluebird Cafe and records both himself and others in his home studio. Stephen was chosen Solo Act of the Year for 2007 by Songwriters Showcases of America. He released his latest CD, "Songs From Dark Rooms", on New Year's Day; it adds a harder blues-rock edge to several tracks while providing plenty of the folk and pop his fans are accustomed to, in the process paying tribute to influences from James Taylor to Robert Palmer to T. Rex.
