Sugar Babes Biography
This page is for the 80's American R&B group, for the British pop group use Sugababes. Sugar Babes was a girl group on MCA Records comprised of Patrice Lydia, Kimiko Whittaker and Stacie Irvin. Their self-titled album was produced by Rick Timas & Vincent Brantley, the same duo who created New Edition's "My Secret" and "Cool It Now". They released three singles: "We Rock The Beat", "I'll Educate You (On My Love)" and "The Perfect Kind Of Love". When Patrice left the group, the remaining members called themselves simply Stacye & Kimiko. They stayed with MCA and came out some time later with their only album, Paradise, which featured the two singles "R U Available" and "Wait For Me". Kimiko tried to start her own solo career on Tabu records, but it was cancelled after Tabu Records fell through in the early 90's.
