Sun Domingo

Weighing in at a combined total of 505lbs. and hailing from Atlanta, GA, Sun Domingo is one of the Southeast's most visible touring bands, playing over 200 shows a year throughout the eastern United States and beyond. Known for their melodic guitar arrangements, introspective lyrics, harmonies and driving bass. The band met in Athens, GA at Nuci's Space in late 2002 ... Immediately the members had common musical interests and shared a bond with rhythmical and melodic approaches to songwriting. After going through a few line-up changes and releasing their first EP " Go to bed grinning" in 2006, the band is in full swing with a new attitude and an onslaught on tour dates to celebrate the release of their first full length album, The World's Alive, June 2008! They often draw comparisons to Wilco , the Shins, Neil Finn (Crowded House), Pink Floyd, the Police, Toad the Wet Sprocket and other artists whose attention to songwriting has earned them accolades among fans and industry professionals alike. In April 2009 the band opened 2 of the 3 nights of the Marillion Convention in Montreal Quebec Canada. The band was enthusiastically embraced by the progressive rock crowd and now has a strong following among the progressive rock fans. There is now discussion of Sun Domingo opening the next European Marillion tour. Sun Domingo will be supporting John Wesley later in the spring of 2009
