The Banner Biography
The Banner was a hardcore punk band from New Jersey with an at times strong metal influence. recording their first record the EP Posthumous in 2000 and eventually releasing it in 2001 on Brightside/Blackout records. The Banner went on to record and release "Murder Mixtape" for Brightside/Blackout in 2002 and record the never released "Reflection in the shadow of the beast" nearly 31 minute long droning concept song album. Parting ways with the label and moving to Ferret records to record their third LP "Each breath haunted" shortly before going on a month long hiatus before returning and recording the much acclaimed LP "Frailty" about a year later. The band is constantly referred to in many mainstream musical publications as being heavily influenced by horror movies, this is fairly fucking retarded and really pisses off the band, especially Joey. The band does tend to lean towards darker subject matter and darker musical influences such as Ink & Dagger, integrity, ringworm, entombed, the misfits/samhain and others of the ilk. in 2008 The Banner joined the Holy Terror collective of artists, musicians and like minded thinkers. The Banner broke up officially for the second time in January 2010. Then Joey grew a mustachio.
