The Mint Biography
Songs for all those whose dreams have gone” is the title of their first EP. What remains when you have lost your songs and dreams? Take it easy, we all know how tough life can be at times, but whatever happens, be strong and don’t let anybody put you down! The band’s name The Mint is derived from the most famous hotel and casino in Las Vegas, immortalised in Hunter S. Thompson’s novel “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”. Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin, The Who and all the other big names were there, so one can rightly say that the Mint Hotel saw a continuous coming and going of Rock n’ Roll heroes and legends. “Great” is probably the word which best describes the sound of The Mint. While their music is certainly influenced by modern elements, it also takes its inspiration from classic 1960s and 70s rock music. The Wall of Sound: a magic blend of past and present which is felt by the audience each time the Mint step into the limelight. Five difficult personalities have come together to form this band, but then, why should it be easy all the time? Nice but exchangeable faces playing exchangeable music abound in today’s music business. This is why The Mint are so totally different: The enthusiasm they feel for their music, their sound and their songs is tangible in everything they do or say. And it works, no matter whether they are playing in front of 200 people in a crowded club, or performing at a FIFA-organized fan party in front of 45,000 people. They are serious about what they are doing and it seems as if there is no way to ignore this band! ..
