The Orange Strips Biography
The Orange Strips started playing in 2002. Having had no experience whatsoever, just a couple of weeks after they had recorded their first song, they were offered to do an interview for the biggest regional newspapers. In 2003. they had their first gig ever which was a total success. That was the moment things really started to move on. Interviews, charts, gigs follow... The band then decides to record another demo, in only 4 days, using nothing but an old PC and some borrowed equipment. Looking back it was afwul but it sure did serve its' purpose. The media, as well as the audience responded more than well, which led to more interviews and gigs. Their song „Naked“ gets to radio charts all over Croatia, even reaching Nr.1. position on Radio Istria. Their third demo, in 2004., shows the band is becoming more mature. Recorded live, it sends two out of three songs on national television, where they both reach Nr.1 on Top 5 (Briljanteen). Their song „The Fire“ is even used as background music in one of the episodes of „When the Bell Rings“, teen series on national tv. It is also used for the national campaign against drugs. In 2005. their first DIY video for „Letters in your Mailbox“ is made. Apart form being aired on national, as well as different local tv stations it was also shown on Adelphia Chanel's No Hit Videos in the States. They also become „the unsigned band of the year“ on ri-rock.com Never having turned down a gig, the end of 2006. brings their first tour in the United Kingdom. They are still unsigned with nothing but their demo recordings. Their tour starts in London, continues to Swindon, all the way to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Glasgow again, then to the world famous Cavern Club in Liverpool and ends in Leicester. The album is finally recorded and is due to come out this year. Their first single taken from it – Madras (Come Again) gets featured on „Stay in the Box“ compilation released by Matchbox Recordings (UK).
