Thomas D. Biography
Thomas D is well-known in Germany not only for his solo work but also for his work as one quarter of Die Fantastischen Vier (The Fantastic Four), a successful rap team from the south of Germany. Born Thomas Dürr in Ditzingen near Stuttgart in 1968, he finished Realschule (Secondary Modern) and began an apprenticeship as a barber, also taking on work as a caretaker. The caretaker ("Hausmeister" in German) work partly gave rise to his stage name "Hausmeister Thomas D". English-speakers may recognise his voice from "Wish/Komm zu mir", a duet with Franka Potenta which featured on the soundtrack for the movie "Run Lola Run" (1998)
