Viento En Contra

Viento En Contra began as many bands: a group of friends that it was meeting to interpret topics of your favorite artists. "Pancho" Francisco Cabrera (guitar) and Javier Ortiz (battery) were taking their instruments to Edgar's house " the Puma " Pereira (guitar) and this way they began their first tests during the last months of 1994. In the next months, during 1995 and already with own songs, they appeared publicly only in a couple of occasions in the city of Guatemala. In this epoch, the group still had neither a definite name nor a titular bassist, and it was even in the middle of 1996 when they decided to look for a bassist in order that it was joining the group. An acquaintance recommended to them Antonio "Tono" Colom, with whom they tested about three weeks before appearing formally as band. In these days they decided that the group would be called "Viento en Contra", and as such they appeared in a bar of the city of Guatemala on June 14, 1996. They were the group "curtainer" for another Guatemalan group. With three produced discs and several presentations to total abundance in the Guatemalan Republic, the members of the band, "Pancho", Javier and "Tono" decide to establish during 2004 in the city of Mexico to promote " Red garment " and to record their new disc " Bad Reputation " that prompt will go out to the sale.
