Violetta

1) Violetta began when longtime friends Adam McKenzie (Drums), Kyle Lochbaum (Rhythm Guitar), Andy Dunham (Bass Guitar) and lead guitarist Austin Covey (Lead Guitar) posted a Wanted ad on Craigslist looking for a female vocalist to front an alternative rock band. Vocalist Brooke Weirick answered the call on the off chance and immediately impressed upon them with her unique and powerful vocal stylings. After playing a few local shows, the band enlisted the help of Jack Campitelli of Fish Tank Audio in Baltimore, Ohio. Campitelli has worked with artists such as Saving Jane and Troy Luccketta of Tesla. The band self-released a 4-song EP called Are We There Yet? in April of 2009 and continued to play out at a feverish pace throughout the year opening for major national acts such as Craig Owens (Equal Vision/Warner Bros), Abandon (Forefront/EMI), Decyfer Down (INO/Columbia), and Spoken (Tooth And Nail). By the end of the summer, Violetta made plans to make a return, and much more extended trip to the 'Tank to record their upcoming album. "Are We There Yet? was the entire band playing at breakneck speeds and trying to fit every drum, bass and guitar solo into the box. Through our own personal development as a band, we've been spending a lot more time crafting great songs that still showcase all the incredibly talented people in this band, but put the focus on writing incredible, memorable songs." With 3 months of songwriting and development already finished, Violetta is inching closer and closer towards their first full-length album. "We're definitely in this for the long haul *laughs*"
