Warrior Soul Biography
Warrior Soul is an American hard rock / punk band formed in 1988 by lead singer Kory Clarke, guitarist John Ricco, bassist Pete McLanahan, and drummer Paul Ferguson (later replaced by Mark Evans and then Scott Duboys). They were signed to Geffen Records from 1989 to 1994. The 1995 album Space Age Playboys was released on the independent Futurist Records label, but the band disbanded within the year. Odds & Ends was released the next year as a posthumous collection of demos and outtakes. Also in 1996 Kory Clarke went on to found a short lived band called Space Age Playboys. Kory Clarke became the lead singer of Dirty Rig. Mark Evans, the band's drummer for three of their albums, was murdered in London, UK in 2005. Following the re-release of the band's first five albums on Escapi Music in 2006, Kory has reformed Warrior Soul for a UK tour in March 2007 using long time musician friends from England and Sweden. Work has begun on a new Warrior Soul album. In 2006, Escapi re-released the band's back catalogue. All tracks on all albums have been remixed and remastered. Assembling a new band, one member at a time, over a 5 year period from England and Sweden, Kory headed back out on the road in 2006 and 2007 for 3 very tours around the UK and select gigs in Europe. 2008 saw the release of the Live in England album and a short promotional tour taking in London, Sweden and a return to New York City . These were the first dates to feature new bassist Janne Jarvis ( Radiator, Hate Gallery) in the band. In October of 2008 the band completed their first tour of the USA playing to hard core Warrior Soul fans and gaining new fans along the way. This tour saw the release of the limited edition album " Chinese Democracy ". Work has begun on a new Warrior Soul album and a live album taken from the band's October UK tour. (This was released in mid 2007) Clarke has since been announced as the new lead singer of Trouble as of May 2, 2008, according to Trouble's website. The band released a limited edition studio album titled "Chinese Democracy" in October of 2008, just a month before the long-awaited and much hyped Guns 'n Roses album of the same name was due for its release. The band shortly re-named the album "...And We Rock and Roll" and began to print more copies. Late 2008 saw a set at the 2nd incarnation of Hard Rock Hell, in North Wales, with the large room over capacity when the band play, rendering the opposing Hawkwind show on the next stage virtually unattended.
