X3 started in the summer of 2006 after a call from guitarist Borge Olzen to dutch bassplayer Joeri Hommerson to record bass on some tracks. A short time after Joeri was introduced to drummer Ravn Hansen and from the very first meeting the right 'vibe' was there and X3 powertrio was born. Besides concerts in norway X3 performed in Italy, Germany and the USA. Joeri studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Holland and at the BIT in Los Angeles. Borge studied at Berklee School of music and Ravn Hansen studied at the American Institute of Music in Vienna, Austria. X3 is only creating their own material and their music is being made just for the love of music and the mutual respect for eachothers incredible playing! Being very much wanted and top of the line session players, each one is besides the band giving clinics and masterclasses worldwide, as well as teaching and helping a new generation of talented musicians. . X3 is known for their incredible live performances where everything from beautiful chord changes in ballads to mind blowing technical high stands in up- tempo material is being performed. All that based on solid grooves with the addition of playing in odd time signatures. The band has their own identity and is really a mix of different styles. For the listener there is always something interesting happening. The music is thoughtfully composed and it is not only the 'trick of the lick' but more the 'swing of the total thing..
