California singer, songwriter, Amber Rose's music is a blend of bluesy alternative pop rock with acoustic folk roots. Her smooth alto, bluesy belt and raw delivery have her compared to Fiona Apple, Stevie Nicks, Melissa Etheridge, Kelly Clarkson, & even Eddie Vedder. Amber Rose's song Down The Line was #1 in Acoustic for September 2009, as well as #1 Fan Favorite and Most Played Song for October 2009 on OurStage.com in association with AOL Music. Sweet Poison preceded as Top 10 in Singer-Songwriter for June 2009 on OurStage/AOL Music and was regularly featured in Hot Artists, Hot Songs, Fan Favorites. Amber Rose was born in Hollywood, California, on October 23, 1986, barely ten months after her parents met on Jam Night at The Old Central night club, now The Viper Room on the Sunset Strip. Amber Rose sings lead vocals, plays rhythm/classical/electric guitar, & piano. Amber Rose comes from musical family. Her grandmother, Candy Campbell, was a torch singer in the 40's in Philadelphia, and a pianist. Her grandfather also from Philadelphia, played trumpet, and her great grandfather Albert Campbell, played piano. Her Aunt Cathy was in several 80's bands, and her father is also a musician. Amber Rose wrote her 1st song at 11, and started playing out on the Los Angeles music scene at aged 15, when she played at the 1st & 2nd Annual Accept & Respect Festival. By age 16, she was playing on the Sunset Strip and in various Los Angeles clubs such as The Rainbow, The Cat Club, 14 Below, The UnUrban, and The Masquer's Cabaret as a solo acoustic artist. She wrote "Don't Let Me Go" in 2003 with Reana Gallardo. The song was released almost a year later when Amber Rose had just turned 17. A very spare recording she did of just guitar and vocals went to #1 on the Soundclick ( ) Acoustic Vocals Charts after only 7 days online, and the song remained there for 5 months straight. Several press articles followed, two by Joe Barracato (New York Post, The Industry Resource), and two articles in The Tolucan Times. At 17, she was known by international fans from more than 65 countries through SoundClick. In May 2006, she was asked to include 4 of her song ringtones on John Doffing's Start Mobile Network, and she and Jason Damato performed at the launch after party at Club Otis, in San Francisco. Then, a month later, she formed The Amber Rose Band, and moved on to larger venues at The Roxy, The Key Club on the Sunset Strip, and at The Tangier on Los Feliz. As The Amber Rose Band, she played The Roxy and The Key Club in the 2006 Bodog Battle of the Bands and held her own against 19 of L.A.’s best male, rock vocalists, not to mention getting the popular online Vote in L.A. to play against thousands of L.A. Bands who signed up on the Bodog BOB site to qualify to begin with. The band broke up after playing only a few more shows while Amber Rose was laid up after a December 2006 car accident. Amber Rose performed at The Sound Aid Concert in Salem, Oregon in 2007, for The Best of Sound Aid CD Release, which includes her #1 hit song, "Don't Let Me Go".
