Anne E. Dechant

Anne E. DeChant, four time winner of Cleveland's Best Singer Songwriter by both the Cleveland Free Times and Scene Magazines, has finished recording her latest CD, "Girls and Airplanes. The CD is produced by Andy Ackland (Dishwalla, Eagles, The Darkness, Tom Petty, Jason Mraz, Joss Stone)and is slated for a 2007 release. In 2005 Anne was invited to be a showcase performer on Olivia Cruise Lines Eastern Carribean Cruise along with Melissa Etheridge and a host of other performers. Her song Second Class Citizen and Second Class Citizen T-shirts were highlighted in the August 16th, 2006 issue of The Advocate. Anne continues to be one of Ohio's standout performers delivering brilliant performances from her long list of poignant and catchy songs. Anne's format stretches from solo/acoustic, to an acoustic trio to full band performances. Each one is a unique experience offering her audience and venues a performance tailor made. DeChant (2001). She is a storyteller, creating characters as diverse as the landscapes in which she paints them. Anne released "Pop The Star" in May of 2004. It is produced by Don Dixon whose resume includes producing, writing and performing credits with R.E.M., Hootie and the Blowfish, The Counting Crows, Joe Cocker, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Marti Jones, The Smithereens, Marshall Crenshaw and more. The recordings represent the culmination of Anne E. DeChant as a writer, artist, and stage performer for over 15 years. The CD met with rave reviews including one in The Free Times (Cleveland) which predicted "Pop the Star" one of "the years best recordings." Anne has performed at Lilith Fair, opened for Nora Jones, Train, Vonda Shepard, 10,000 Maniacs, Stevie Nicks, appeared in the Vagina Monologues, done countless radio and television performances, and logged hundreds of club dates.
