Armor for Sleep was an alternative rock band from Maplewood and Teaneck, New Jersey. Lead singer Ben Jorgensen recorded the first ever Armor For Sleep songs for $100 at a nearby recording studio, playing all the instruments by himself. He later met his band mates in college. The band was originally signed to EQUAL VISION RECORDS, which released the band's first two albums. As of April 2006, Armor for Sleep is signed to Sire Records. According to a post on the band's MySpace, their contract with EVR simply ran out and was not renewed. A remix of Remember to Feel Real was featured on the "Snakes on a Plane: The Album" soundtrack in August 2006. Also, End of the World was featured on the "Transformers: The Movie" soundtrack in 2007. The band recorded its third album, Smile For Them, at the Mix World Studios in beginning of December 2006. The album was released on October 11th, 2007 to critical acclaim. The lyrical content focuses on real-world issues instead of the afterlife or dream world of the band's first two albums. The band consisted of: Ben Jorgensen - vocals, guitar PJ DeCicco - guitar Anthony DiIonno - bass Nash Breen - drums At the end of October 2009, AFS announced a more official breakup after over a year long period of hiatus. Lead vocalist and lyricist, Ben Jorgensen, is now in a new music project along with Sierra Shardae called "God Loves A Challenge" with a more dancey, electronic sound.
