Atticus Fault Biography
Atticus Fault, comprised of front-man/guitarist Todd Evans, drummer Paul Asciutto III, lead guitarist Jason Noe, and bass player Troy Deaton display the pedigree of elite, veteran musicians in their prime. Each has paid their dues both on the road and in the studio as session players for a variety of nationally recognized artists, but their best work comes when together as the four-piece, Atticus Fault. From their seemingly meteoric rise, to the release of their national debut in 2001, to the satellite returning to earth in a ball of flames, Atticus Fault has come through the fire and what has emerged is a band confident in who they are and where they’re going. Drawing favorable comparisons to Death Cab for Cutie, Coldplay and U2, Atticus Fault has garnered critical acclaim and are widely respected throughout the indie scene. In 2001, they made their presence known with their self-titled debut on Uninhibited/MCA. Produced by Jay Joyce (Patty Griffin, Cage the Elephant), Atticus Fault delivered an impressive recording poised for success. Their album was creating quite a buzz on the national radar when their first single, My First Trip To Mars generated considerable airplay and even got the attention of NASA officials, who chose the single to wake up the Spirit Rover for an exploration mission on planet Mars. Suddenly things came to a screeching halt when their label, in disarray, stopped promotions for the newly released project as it collapsed under the weight of an ever changing industry. Each pursued other projects and months turned into years before reconvening with new bass player/producer and long-time friend Troy Deaton. What began as a night over beers and reminiscing opened the doors to getting together again with a “let's see what happens” approach. That night led to several years of writing and recording and a creativity that developed even stronger within the band than where they left off years before. With new life, Atticus Fault emerges triumphantly with their long anticipated sophomore release, Bombs Cannot Wake. This marks a new era for the band having recorded the entire project independently and on their terms. What remains are the infectious grooves, thought-provoking lyrics, engaging melodies, and the memorable hooks that made them appealing to so many while avoiding the trappings of the cliché and conventional. The time spent recording has yielded a compelling new project that demonstrates the confidence of a band secure in its own identity. This is Atticus Fault. http://www.myspace.com/atticusfault
