Miami has for years been the career launching grounds for mega talents such as Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, and Enrique Iglesias. The city, known for its love of music and dance, has now sunk its talent hungry teeth into its newest shining star, Latina Pop Princess, CeCe Segarra. This young and vibrant songstress embodies what it takes to be strong, youthful and independent, giving life to songs that are powerfully self-written and full of emotion. She describes her music as being “influential, upbeat, happy music that will inspire and entertain”. The self proclaimed “Trekkie” and videogame enthusiast has her own style, providing the music industry with a fresh new pop sound that will leave people wanting more. Born in Yonkers, New York and raised in Florida, CeCe was the middle child who had no problems stealing the spotlight. She knew she wanted to perform since she could remember; stepping on stage at a school play at only 5, she recalls knowing, “This is what I want do with my life”. CeCe continued to perform in school plays, and locally for her church, cultivating her passion for dance and song. CeCe found herself entranced by the feeling of power and self-confidence dance and performing gave her while on stage. At the age of 15, she trained professionally at the world renowned, Joffrey Ballet School. She continued to make a name for herself, dancing for top National Athletic teams, The Florida Marlins and the New York Knicks. On her path to stratum, CeCe, like many other aspiring artists, had more then her fair share of “bad breaks.” She tried her hand at dance and acting, relocating from Florida to New York twice, finally landing in Miami to focus on her music. CeCe never gave up on her dreams, rather pushed forward to gain her rightful spot in the industry. Her innate talent, drive and professionalism afforded her the privilege of meeting several producers who would serve to be influential factors in making CeCe a pop sensation. A noteworthy producer, Robert “Big Bert” Smith who has worked with the likes of the late Michael Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Simpson, introduced her to executives at Weight Records. It didn’t take long for Weight Records to recognize her talent and passion, signing CeCe as Weight Records’ first pop act. CeCe’s much anticipated break-through album is attracting quite a local and national buzz. The popular Miami radio station, Power 96, teamed up with the local pop princess, to launch her single campaign for “Outer Space,” which has immediately propelled her into “Pop Star” status. Industry executives agree that CeCe will be a hit with critics and crowds alike, boasting an edgier more eclectic pop sound. CeCe is steadily at work, collaborating with industry heavy-hitters including music producers Big Bert, The Runner’s, Chad Beatz, Grammy Award-Winning writers Robert “EST” Waller, , who has had success with chart topping songs such as, Beyonce’s, “Me, Myself and I” and Destiny’s Child’s, “Cater to You” and now, CeCe’s debut single, “Outer Space”. Making her entrance into the music world, CeCe will wear the crown of Latina Pop Princes, in both the English and Latin markets. CeCe’s drive is explosive and contagious gaining her a core fan-base. Her debut single, already predicted to be this year’s summer anthem, expresses what it is to be young, strong, and independent.
