Charles Reed Biography
Talented vocalist, gifted songwriter, dancer/choreographer, model, producer/engineer, actor, hard worker and task oriented are just a few of the titles that Charles Reedresponds to on a daily basis. Born in Cleveland, Ohio into a family with high moral values grounded in strong educational principles while possessing diverse artistic abilities helped to shape the responsible young man that we know today. At the early age of four, Charles began singing, by his mother’s side in the choir at Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Church and by age 5 he took top prize in his schools’ talent show, performing Michael Jackson’s “BEAT IT.” At 14, young Charles decided to seriously pursue his dream to become a professional entertainer. With the solid support of his family, Charles began to map out the path to success in entertainment that he wanted to achieve. Rap Music dominating much of the Cleveland Music Scene in the late 1990’s, he led to form a very popular Rap trio known as Adrenalyn Rush. Highly skilled as a MC, Charles was always singled out for his vocal abilities. Under the tutelage and mentorship of, the late great, Gerald Levert, Casino Joe Little and cousin R&B artist Avant, Charles experienced first hand, valuable lessons on how to capture and entertain an audience. Number 1 lesson learned – “give your all no matter the size of the crowd large or small.” As the heat of his passion to become an acclaimed entertainer continued to kindle, Charles decided to attend Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida after graduation from high school. Charles Reed has covered many miles sharing the stage with artist such as: Lil’ Wayne, T.I., Soulja Boy, Flo-Rida, Dj Khaled & Ace Hood, Bobby Valentino, Avant, J. Holiday, Alicia Keys, Kevin Little, Git Fresh, Ceelo Green, Katt Williams, & Lyfe Jennings just to name a few. Charles, by special request, performed at a book signing for the late Johnny Cochran, and has modeled for many brand name designers. While attending Full Sail University, majoring in Engineering, Charles was introduced to Dade Town Producer Yung Hollywood. Yung Hollywood recorded a few demos on Reed and presented them to CEO and platinum Producer of Dade Town Records; Bigg D. In May of 2009, Charles Reed signed an exclusive recording agreement with Dade Town Music Group and is currently recording his debut album. Bigg D describes Reed as an amazingly talented vocalist in the R&B tradition of the smooth, sensitive, urban singer/songwriters with just the right amount of street. Don’t Let the smooth baby face of Charles Reed fool you, he is a real, true to the game, ladies Man. Songs like “Happy”, “Fallin” and “Better” are proof that he goes right for the hearts of the Ladies. As an actor, Charles Reed is currently cast in the Queen of Comedy “Sommore’s” new movie, April Foolz and Numerous Coomercials. Reed’s background in theater featured him in the leading roles of Tony in “West Side Story” (2003), PaPa Gas in “Once on This Island” (2001) and as Young Marvin in the “Marvin Gaye Story” (2001). Following in the footsteps of fellow Clevelanders Ron O’Neal, Phillip Morris, Rod Sterling, Wesley Snipes, and Terrance Howard, to name a few, Charles Reed was awarded the Karamu Actors Guild “Outstanding Youth Award” (2001). On the right now, entertainment scene in Miami, Florida, Charles Reed’s single release “Jook Wit Me” featuring fellow label mate D-Shep, is a club banger. Jook dancing has dominated the dance scene in Miami for years and currently shows no sign of slowing down largely because of songs like Charles Reed’s “Jook Wit Me” fueling the Fire.
