Chelsea Field Biography
(from her website) It doesn’t take long to realize that Chelsea Field has all the tangibles to make it as an artist in the music business: the voice, the songs, the looks… In fact, all one really has to do is watch this young lady perform for a few minutes and it becomes more than a little obvious that she has what it takes. But this dynamic artist also possesses something less evident; a quality that she shares with those same marquee names you see topping the charts, filling the airwaves and collecting platinum albums. That something is tenacity. Strong-willed. Strong-minded. Opinionated and ambitious. Passionate and personable. These are just some of the qualities that define Chelsea Field, both as an artist and as a person. She knows what she wants, and she has the drive to get it done. After all, when your first job is selling construction door-to-door as a teenager, you learn a thing or two about persistence and the value of hard work. “I’ve been singing since I was four,” says Chelsea. “It’s something that’s always come naturally to me, but when I was around 13 or so I saw Shania Twain in concert, and from that moment on I knew that performing on stage is what I was meant to do!” At 19, the Marion, Ohio, native moved to Nashville, where she first began in earnest to put the pieces in place for the release of her debut album, produced by award-winning songwriter and producer Trey Bruce (Chris Ledoux, Trace Adkins, Sir Cliff Richard). Already an accomplished songwriter in her own right, Chelsea continued to craft new material and field submissions from some of Nashville’s finest writers in her search for just the right collection of songs. Finding the ones that balanced her Country influences with her Pop interests was a painstaking and time-consuming process, but one she wasn’t willing to compromise on, she says. “For better or worse, the songs that you choose help determine how people perceive you and your style,” Chelsea notes. “It was important for me to find the songs that fit me, because while one song might be great for another artist, it won’t come across to the fans as yours if it sounds like somebody else.” As a performer, opening for big names like Big & Rich, Jason Aldean, Billy Currington, Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert has given Chelsea a valuable opportunity to learn from some of the best entertainers in Country music. “I think that opening for those artists motivates me even more as a performer, because now I’ve been on those big stages, and I’ve felt the energy from those crowds. It just makes me want to work that much harder to get out there again on my own.” In many ways, Chelsea Field is already a seasoned artist and performer, barely into her twenties. “I’ve been a performer all my life,” she says. “I’ve got all the confidence in the world right now. Being out on stage in front of all those people, I don’t get nervous. These are my favorite moments of this whole process… I’ve been waiting all my life for this.”
